A common vein, now distended and almost dry, has nearly disconnected itself and the gap between what we hold mutual grows
And the symptoms show
And as every cell in this body has been programmed to contribute and one day die, this cancerous tissue benefits on the demise of others
We’ve lost control

The cancer we leave beneath us
It’s left a trail…we’ve let it feed us
The cancer we breed inside us
Has left it’s scars…we let it beat us
It beats us, it feeds us, we let it…every day

We call this fate an act of will. We look for cures inside a pill
We’ve named it progress and dubbed it a feat. We must expose it as a disease
Disease… disease
The growth of cancer, rates increase. Takes the body until it ceases to breathe
Cures are never what we hope to be. We deny problems, deny disease

Apoptosis fails for another generation, and as a pathogen we continue to become more virulent and leave scars
